Sailing Races at New England Women and Open Championships

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Connecticut College sailing team returned to action, traveling to Brown University for the NEISA Open Dinghy Championship and to Bowdoin University for the Women's New England Fleet Race Championship.

NEISA Open Dinghy

There were two divisions of boats for the race. In the Division A boat for the Camels was Wade Anthony (Chestertown, Md.), Ryan McKinney (New York, N.Y.), Renee Smith (Haskell, N.J.), and Vivian Smith (Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y.). The Division A boat scored a total of 117 points to finish 15th out of 18. In the Division B boat for Conn was Cecilia Bohan (Newport, R.I.), Charles Bresnahan (Groton, Conn.), Andrew Powers (Rye, N.Y.), Henry Scholz (Lake Forest, Ill.), and Vivian Smith. The Camels scored 127 points in Division B finishing 16th out of 18. The two boats combined for 244 points, finishing 16th overall, five points back of Salve Regina in 15th place.

Women's New England Fleet

There were two divisions of boats for the race. In the Division A boat for the Camels was Coco Carragher (New York, N.Y.), Cecilia Roe (New Rochelle, N.Y.), and Izzy Wu-Karr (Baltimore, Md.). The Division A boat recorded 137 points to finish 14th out of 16 boats. In the second boat for Conn, Aurora Kreyche (Seattle, Wash.) and Lily Saffer (Rye, N.Y.) totaled 143 points to finish 16th. The two boats combined for 280 points, as Conn finished 16th, 14 points behind McGill in 15th.

Conn returns to action next weekend heading to the Admirals Cup Fleet Race in Kings Point, N.Y. and the Southern 7 Fleet Race in Kingston, R.I.
