NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Connecticut College sailing team returned to action over the weekend, competing in the Hoyt Trophy hosted by Brown and the Hurst Bowl hosted by Dartmouth.
At the Hoyt Trophy, Conn placed 12th out of 18 boats, recording 326 points across the A and B divisions. The A division boat tallied 165 points and was skippered by Skylor Sweet (Bear, Del.) with Andrew Selian (Portsmouth, R.I.) and Vivian Smith (Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y.) rounding out the crew. William Hurd (West Dennis, Mass.) and Henry Scholz (Lake Forest, Ill.) split the skipper duties for the B boat, with Alejandro Amzecua (New Rochelle, N.Y.), Coco Carragher (New York, N.Y.), and Tatem Gee (Burlingame, Calif.) rounding out the sailors, as the boat scored 161 points.
At the Hurst Bowl, the Camels recorded 273 points to finish 15th out of 17 boats. In the A boat Natalie Fear (New York, N.Y.) and Izzy Wu-Karr (Baltimore, Md.) both skippered the boat while Maddie Jarbeau (East Greenwich, R.I.), June Roe (New Rochelle, N.Y.), and Madeline Synnestvedt (Cohasset, Mass.) rounded out the crew scoring 132 points. Viola Henry (Cohasset, Mass.) and Lilly Saffer (Rye, N.Y.) split the skipper role in the B boat with Cecilia Roe (New Rochelle, N.Y.), Jarbeau, and Synnestvedt tallying 141 points.
Conn returns to action next weekend, hosting ACC qualification at Kohn Riverfront and traveling to the University of Rhode Island.
