Sailing Competes at Rhode Island and ACC Round 1

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Connecticut College sailing team returned to action over the weekend, hosting the Women's ACC Round 1 at Kohn Waterfront and competing at the Moody Trophy hosted by the University of Rhode Island.

At the ACC First Round, Conn placed 17th out of 18 teams, finishing with 330 points across two racing divisions. Four Camels raced in boat A, as Natalie Fear (New York, N.Y.), Maddie Jarbeau (East Greenwich, R.I.), Madeline Synnestvedt (Cohasset, Mass.), and Izzy Wu-Karr (Baltimore, Md.) scored 159 points. In the B division boat Jarbeau and Synnestvedt were joined by Cecilia Roe (New Rochelle, N.Y.) and Lily Saffer (Rye, N.Y.) scoring 171 points.

At the Moody Trophy, Conn finished 15th out of 17 teams, compiling 272 points across two boats. Duncan Craine (Weston, Conn.) and Stevie Thomsen (Sacramento, Calif.) finished 14th in the A division, scoring 126 points. The B division boat tallied 146 points and a 16th place finish, with Liam Gronda (Chevy Chase, Md.), Andrew Selian (Portsmouth, R.I.), and Griffin Stead (Vineyard Haven, Mass.) racing in the boat.

Conn returns to action next weekend, hosting the Stu Nelson Trophy at Kohn Waterfront and traveling to St. Mary's City, Md. to compete in the Coed ACC Qualification.
