BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Connecticut College women's swimming and diving team came up on the short end of a 159-134 final against Bowdoin College on Sunday afternoon at Leroy Greason Pool.

The Camels—who swept both relays and posted five individual wins on the day—outscored the Polar Bears 134-127 in the 14 swimming events. However, without a Conn diver in the field, Bowdoin made up the difference by earning 32 total points in the 1M and 3M competitions.

Campbell Baumgartner (Charlotte, N.C.) paced the Camels with a pair of solo wins and another in the 400 medley relay. She was the first of four Conn swimmers to the wall in the 100 breast (1:05.9), and in the 200 breast (2:27.86) she won by more than two seconds.

Claire Hoffmann (Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J.) led the charge as the Camels claimed the top five spots in the 1,000 free. She touched the wall in 10:44.29, more than 45 seconds faster than the closest Bowdoin competitor. Rosemary Bonadies (Nashville, Tenn.) and Kailin Fuller (Bowdoinham, Maine) also turned in winning swims in the 100 back (59.48) and 50 free (24.53), respectively.

Conn's relay teams enjoyed a strong meet and kicked things off with a 1-2 finish in the 400 medley relay. Bonadies, Baumgartner, Cassie Toler (League City, Texas) and Hope Lane (Swarthmore, Pa.) secured the victory with a time of 3:59.03, and the squad of Jenna Charlat (Bedford, N.H.), Ella Behling (Brookfield, Conn.), Tessa Gordon (Cottage Grove, Wis.) and Fuller bested Bowdoin's top team by just over a half-second. The Camels wrapped up the meet with a win in the 400 free relay, where the squad of Fuller, Stephanie Shawaryn (Moorestown, N.J.), Gordon and Lane turned in the top time of 3:37.66.

Conn will next compete at Williams College on Saturday, January 18 at 1:00 p.m.
