NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Connecticut College sailing teams returned to action hosting the Stu Nelson at Kohn Waterfront, while also competing at the Sister Ester Trophy hosted by Roger Williams, and the Open Atlantic Coast Championship hosted by Yale.
At the Open ACC Championships, Conn finished 15th out of 18 teams with 176 points across two racing divisions. The A division boat tallied 92 points with Henry Scholz (Lake Forest, Ill.) and Vivian Smith (Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y.) in the boat. William Hurd (West Dennis, Mass.) and Madeline Synnestvedt (Cohasset, Mass.) teamed up in the B division boat, scoring 84 points.
At the Stu Nelson, Conn finished 13th out of 17 teams with 208 points across three racing divisions. The A division boat consisted of Lily Saffer (Rye, N.Y.), Maddie Jarbeau (East Greenwich, R.I.), and June Roe (New Rochelle, N.Y.), who scored 92 points. In the B division boat Julia Scipione (Hingham, Mass.) and Alex Daigle (East Falmouth, Mass.) teamed up to score 73 points. Rounding out the Camels in the C division boat was Natalie Fear (New York, N.Y.) and Sienna Young (Westport, Conn.) who tallied 43 points, highlighted by a third place finish in race five.
At the Sister Ester Trophy, Conn finished 13th out of 18 teams with 91 points across two divisions. Rory Murray (Nantucket, Mass.) and Griffin Stead (Vineyard Haven, Mass.) combined in the A division boat to score 50 points. The B division boat scored 41 points with Keegan Chatburn (Lake Forest, Ill.) and Grace Popp (Greenwich, Conn.) racing together.
Conn returns to action next weekend, competing at Dartmouth and Harvard.
