NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Connecticut College sailing team returned to action, kicking off the spring portion of their schedule hosting both the Thames River team race and the McMerrick team race at Kohn Waterfront.
At the Thames River team race, Conn finished seventh, winning one out of seven races. Conn's skippers were Liam Gronda (Chevy Chase, Md.), Izzy Wu-Karr (Baltimore, Md.), and William Hurd (West Dennis, Mass.), while the crews were rounded out by Vivian Smith (Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y.), Aurora Kreyche (Seattle, Wash.), and Coco Carragher (New York, N.Y.).
At the McMerrick team race, Conn finished sixth, winning two of five races. The skippers for the Camels were Lily Saffer (Rye, N.Y.), Duncan Craine (Weston, Conn.), Skylor Sweet (Bear, Del.), while the crews were rounded out by Maddie Jarbeau (East Greenwich, R.I.), Sophia Rey (Newport, R.I.), and Madeline Synnestvedt (Cohasset, Mass.).
Conn returns to action next weekend, hosting a regatta at Kohn Waterfront, and heading to Newport News, Va. to compete at Christopher Newport.
