Sailing Finishes Third at Vietor Trophy

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Connecticut College sailing team returned to action, hosting the Vietor Trophy and traveling to Brunswick, Maine to compete in the Callahan Trophy.

At the Vietor Trophy, Conn finished third out of 13 teams, totaling 130 points across two racing divisions. The A division boat recorded 72 points, and consisted of Skylor Sweet (Bear, Del.), Duncan Craine (Weston, Conn.), and Madeline Synnestvedt (Cohasset, Mass.). The B division boat consisted of Liam Gronda (Chevy Chase, Md.), William Hurd (West Dennis, Mass.), Henry Scholz (Lake Forest, Ill.), Sophia Rey (Newport, R.I.), and Alejandro Amezcua (New Rochelle, N.Y.) scoring 58 points.

At the Callahan Trophy, the Camels finished fourth, winning two out of eight races. Conn's skippers for the weekend were Izzy Wu-Karr (Baltimore, Md.), Lily Saffer (Rye, N.Y.), and Natalie Fear (New York, N.Y.), while Aurora Kreyche (Seattle, Wash.), Coco Carragher (New York, N.Y.), and Vivian Smith (Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y.) rounding out the crews.

Conn returns to action next weekend, hosting a regatta at Kohn Waterfront and traveling to Kingston, R.I. for a regatta hosted by the University of Rhode Island.
