LEWISTON, Maine – The Connecticut College men's tennis team fell by a 5-2 final against Bates College on Saturday morning at Merrill Gymnasium.
The Bobcats captured the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and 3 and then followed up by taking four of six singles matches. Bates improved to 3-4 overall (1-0 NESCAC) on the season.
Wolf Sohlberg (Espoo, Finland) paced the Camels with a pair of wins on the day. He teamed with
Walker Mulligan (Guilford, Conn.) to post a 6-4 victory over Ben Adey and Evangelo Kapothanasis at No. 2 doubles. Later in the day, he defeated Alex Park in straight sets at No. 5 singles.
Nikhil Agarwal (San Mateo, Calif.) supplied Conn's other win at No. 4 singles. After splitting sets with Adey, he came out on top in a 10-point tiebreaker in lieu of a third set. The win was his team-high fifth of the year.
Conn (4-3 overall, 1-3 NESCAC) will next play Ithaca College on Monday, March 10 in Orlando, Fla.
