WATERVILLE, Maine – The Connecticut College women's tennis team fell by a 6-1 final to Bates College on Saturday afternoon in a NESCAC clash at Merrill Gymnasium.
The Bobcats won eight of the nine matches across both doubles and singles. Bates improved to 2-5 overall (1-1 NESCAC) on the season.
Maya Kowalska (Feasterville-Trevose, Pa.) supplied the lone win for the Camels. After dropping the first set against Isabella Saul at the No. 2 spot, she bounced back to win 7-6 in the second, and then claimed the match in a 10-point tiebreaker in lieu of a third set. Kowalska improved to 2-1 overall in singles action this season.
The Camels put up a fight in several singles matches.
Lily Kerachsky (East Greenwich, R.I.),
Evin Cosar (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and
Asahi Goods (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) all took their opponents to a third set in defeat.
Conn (0-3 overall, 0-3 NESCAC) will next play Ithaca College on Monday, March 10 in Orlando, Fla.
