BENNINGTON, Vt. – The No. 44 Connecticut College men's tennis team fell by a 7-0 final against No. 27 Williams College on Saturday afternoon in a NESCAC showdown at the Bennington Tennis Center.
The Ephs opened the match by sweeping through doubles play. Conn's best result came at the No. 3 spot, where
Krishh Tipnis (Thane, India) and
Sigmund Winiecki (Jaffrey, N.H.) battled to a 6-4 setback.
In singles, Williams took all but one match in straight sets.
Walker Mulligan (Guilford, Conn.) was the lone exception at No. 4, as he took the opening set off Leon Liu by a 6-3 count before dropping the second in a tiebreaker. In lieu of a third set, the two played a 10-point tiebreaker, with Liu coming out on top by a 10-6 final.
Conn (10-8 overall, 1-6 NESCAC) will next play at Middlebury College on Sunday, April 13 at 10:00 a.m.
