MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The No. 59 Connecticut College women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision against No. 4 Middlebury College on Sunday afternoon.
The Panthers swept all nine matches on the day, improving to 11-2 overall (7-0 NESCAC) on the season.
For the second time this weekend,
Maya Kowalska (Feasterville-Trevose, Pa.) forced her No. 3 singles match into a decisive third set. After being clipped by a 7-6 tally in the opening set by Charlotte McCann, Kowalska battled back to even the match behind a 6-4 win in the second. The two then faced off in a 10-point tiebreaker to settle the match, with McCann prevailing by a 10-2 count.
The Camels lost in straight sets in the other five singles contests.
Evin Cosar (Shrewsbury, Mass.) took seven games off her opponent at the No. 2 spot while
Mary Ella Prendergast (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) and
Asahi Goods (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) took six apiece at Nos. 4 and 6, respectively.
Conn (5-9 overall, 1-6 NESCAC) will next play at Tufts University on Saturday, April 19 at 2:00 p.m.
