MEDFORD, Mass. – The No. 63 Connecticut College women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision at No. 9 Tufts University on Saturday afternoon at the Tufts Tennis Center.
The Jumbos won eight of nine matches on the day to improve to 13-4 overall (5-3 NESCAC). Conn's lone victory came at No. 2 doubles where the duo of
Maya Kowalska (Feasterville-Trevose, Pa.) and
Evin Cosar (Shrewsbury, Mass.) picked up a 6-4 win over Brooklyn Bindas and Athena Li.
In singles play, the Camels extended a pair of matches into a deciding set before coming up short in a 10-point tiebreaker.
Caitlin Cass (Newcastle, Maine) took the opening set off Melanie Woodbury at No. 1 but eventually fell by a 10-4 final in the third.
Asahi Goods (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) followed the same path at No. 6 against Nikki Kintiroglou, winning the first set but falling 10-6 in the third.
Conn (6-10 overall, 1-7 NESCAC) will next host Hamilton College on Saturday, April 26 at 10:00 a.m.
