NEW LONDON, Conn. – Connecticut College dropped a 5-2 decision against No. 14 Wesleyan University on Sunday morning in a NESCAC men's tennis showdown at Luce Field House.
Conn picked up a pair of points in singles play behind solid play from
Arjun Premkumar (Bangalore, India) and
Walker Mulligan (Guilford, Conn.). Premkumar battled past JT Bilski at the top spot, outlasting his opponent in three sets to claim his seventh victory of the season. Mulligan, who notched his eighth victory of the year, bounced back from a first set loss to win in a 10-point tiebreaker against Brett Keeling at No. 5.
The Camels were competitive across the rest of singles play.
Jules Taylor-Kerman (New York, N.Y.) and
Wolf Sohlberg (Espoo, Finland) each took seven games off their opponents, and
Gavin Anderson (Avon, Conn.) lost his opening set in a tiebreaker.
Conn (10-7 overall, 1-5 NESCAC) will next play at Williams College on Saturday, April 12 at 2:00 p.m.
