WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Connecticut College women's basketball team dropped a 55-37 decision to Williams College on Saturday afternoon in a NESCAC showdown at the Chandler Athletic Center.
Amaya Chase-Luthra led three Ephs in double figures with 14 points.
Sofia Tavarez (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) paced the Camels with a game-high 15 points and added six rebounds.
Conn struggled to overcome a sluggish first half in which it shot 6-for-28 from the floor. Williams, which shot 13 percent in the opening quarter, took a 23-14 lead into the locker room at halftime.
The Ephs opened the second half with a 10-2 run to extend the margin to 17 by the 3:39 mark of the quarter.
Hayle Thompson (Maynard, Mass.) added a pair of buckets before the end of the period as Conn trailed 38-20 heading into the fourth.

Sydney Feeney (North Attleboro, Mass.) each scored five points in the final quarter, but Conn couldn't make up any ground. Kathleen Smith netted eight of her 10 points over the final 10 minutes as Williams improved to 9-7 overall (3-1 NESCAC).
Conn (10-7 overall, 1-3 NESCAC) will next play at Tufts University on Saturday, January 24 at 3:00 p.m.
