NORTON, Mass. – The No. 13 Connecticut College men's swimming and diving team picked up its second dual meet win of the weekend, rolling past Wheaton College by a 197-95 final on Sunday afternoon at Balfour Natatorium.
Eight different Camels combined to win 11 of the 14 individual events in the meet.
Campbell Noel (Austin, Texas),
Julian Carlson (Brookline, Mass.) and
Cam Bizjak (Willoughby, Ohio) each supplied a pair of victories on the day to lead the charge.
Conn secured maximum points in seven events, supplying the top three finishers in the 1,000 free, 200 free, 200 fly, 200 breast, 500 free, 1M dive and 3M dive.
Evan Lyons (Longmeadow, Mass.) was the first to the wall in the 1,000 free (9:47.29) while Noel won both the 200 free (1:45.15) and 500 free (4:45.39).
Stepan Ignatiev (Swampscott, Mass.) was the first to the wall in the 200 fly (1:57.47) while Carlson led the pack in the 200 breast (2:07.93), and Bizjak took the top spot in both the 1M (466.05) and 3M (292.35) dives. Carlson's second win came in the 100 breast (59.26).
Carrick Shea (Grafton, Mass.),
Dawson Rice (Wilbraham, Mass.) and
Ryan Karaca (Schenectady, N.Y.) also nabbed victories for the Camels. Shea posted the fastest time in the 50 free (21.01) and also finished runner-up in the 100 free. Rice took the victory in the 200 back (1:57.08) after finishing second in the 100 back, and Karaca rounded out the winners in the 200 IM (1:56.87).
Conn (8-1 overall) will next compete at the NESCAC Championships on February 19-22.
