Women's S&D Coasts Past Wheaton

NORTON, Mass. – The Connecticut College women's swimming and diving team posted a 193-84 victory over Wheaton College on Sunday afternoon at Balfour Natatorium.

Eight Camels combined to win 12 of the 14 individual events at the meet, with Morganne Young (Longwood, Fla.) and Kate Edison (Westford, Mass.) leading the charge with two victories apiece. Conn also won both relays, with Edison swimming legs on each.

Conn secured maximum points in four events, supplying the top three finishers in the 100 back, 100 breast, 200 breast and 500 free. Rosemary Bonadies (Nashville, Tenn.) took home the top spot in the 100 back (1:00.26) while Ella Behling (Brookfield, Conn.) posted the top time in the 100 breast (1:10.23). Later in the meet, Emma Lent (Acton, Mass.) was first to the wall in the 200 breast (2:32.93), and Chloe Frandsen (Germantown, Tenn.) clocked the fastest time in the 500 free (5:26.24).

Young's wins came in the 100 back (1:00.26) and 100 fly (59.95), while Edison was the fastest in the 200 fly (2:09.96) and the 100 free (54.78). Rounding out the list of winners were Kailin Fuller (Bowdoinham, Maine) in the 50 free (25.41) and Lauren Multari (Hamilton, N.J.) in the 200 IM (2:18.32).

The squad of Bonadies, Campbell Baumgartner (Charlotte, N.C.), Edison and Fuller posted the winning time in the 200 medley relay (1:50.63), besting Wheaton's top squad by more than two seconds. In the 200 free relay, the team of Fuller, Addy Pruce (Chagrin Falls, Ohio), Young and Edison won with a time of 1:41.53.

Conn (2-6 overall) will next compete at the NESCAC Championships on February 12-15.
