MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Connecticut College moved up one spot and finished in ninth place on the final night at the 2026 NESCAC Women's Swimming & Diving Championships on Sunday at Wesleyan University.
The Camels checked in with 551 points over the four-day meet, their highest total since 2023.
Swimming in her third championship final in as many nights,
Kate Edison (Westford, Mass.) capped the weekend with the highest NESCAC finish of her career. She took fourth overall in the 200 fly (2:03.80), shaving nearly 1.5 seconds off her prelim time while notching her second NCAA 'B' cut of the championships.
Chloe Frandsen (Germantown, Tenn.) and
Sophia Carliss (Frederick, Md.) both earned points in the 1,650 free. Frandsen swam in the final heat and finished 12th (17:48.49) while Carliss, who competed earlier in the day, placed 23rd (18:16.24).
Emma Lent (Acton, Mass.),
Ella Behling (Brookfield, Conn.) and
Campbell Baumgartner (Charlotte, N.C.) all competed in the 200 breast. Lent posted the fastest time of the trio and finished 12th (2:24.95) while Behling placed 16th (2:29.43). Baumgartner clipped more than two seconds off her morning time and nabbed 18th (2:26.02).
Rosemary Bonadies (Nashville, Tenn.) also took part in her third final of the weekend, finishing 24th in the 200 back (2:12.05).
Conn battled Bates College for ninth place all night long. The Camels pulled in front following the 1,650 free, but then once again fell behind following the 200 back. The order stayed the same until Edison's swim in the 200 fly gave Conn an eight-point advantage heading into the 400 free relay.
The squad of
Tessa Gordon (Cottage Grove, Wis.),
Stephanie Shawaryn (Moorestown, N.J.),
Morganne Young (Longwood, Fla.) and
Cassie Toler (League City, Texas) did its part, finishing sixth (17th overall) in the 'B' heat and sticking just behind Bates as the lead dropped to six. The 'A' team of
Kailin Fuller (Bowdoinham, Maine),
Addy Pruce (Chagrin Falls, Ohio),
Hope Lane (Swarthmore, Pa.) and Edison then put up a time of 3:30.87 to take seventh, clipping the Bobcats by one hundredth of a second to stay in front. Edison's anchor leg was the difference, as she closed the final 100 yards in 51.63.
