WATERVILLE, Maine – Connecticut College finished fourth at the 2026 NESCAC Men's Swimming & Diving Championships on Sunday afternoon at Colby College's Aquatic Center.

The Camels wrapped the four-day meet with 1,077 points, their highest total since 2017. Williams took home the team title with 1,599 points while Tufts (1,562) and Amherst (1,217) rounded out the top three.

Evan Lyons (Longmeadow, Mass.) and Carrick Shea (Grafton, Mass.) each picked up their second individual titles of the weekend. Lyons won the 1,650 free during the morning session, cruising to victory in a school-record time of 15:29.51. In the afternoon session, Shea claimed victory in the 200 breast with a time of 1:55.12 that broke NESCAC, meet, pool and school records. It marked the first time in school history that teammates won multiple NESCAC titles at the same championship.

Both wins came in dominant fashion. Lyons finished more than 11 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor, becoming just the second Camel to win the 1,650 free in school history. Shea, the first Conn swimmer to claim victory in the 200 breast, won his race by just under four seconds.

It was a standout weekend for the duo, who each claimed a pair of NESCAC titles and a runner-up finish. Lyons broke school records in his 1,000 free and 1,650 free wins and took second in the 400 IM. Shea broke school records in three individual events, winning the 200 IM and 200 breast while finishing second in the 100 breast. The two also contributed to a second-place finish in the 800 free relay, breaking the school record and earning All-NESCAC honors.

Lyons was one of six Camels who scored points in the 1,650 free, which got an early start due to the impending winter weather. Campbell Noel (Austin, Texas) finished eighth (16:04.09), Jack Mattison-Gulotta (Florence, Mass.) took 10th (16:05.61), Teddy Batmaca (Amesbury, Mass.) placed 18th (16:29.77), Cooper Voss (Glen Ridge, N.J.) secured 23rd (16:38.17) and William Moulson (Andover, Mass.) claimed 24th (16:44.74).

Swimming alongside Shea, Julian Carlson (Brookline, Mass.) took fifth place in the 200 breast (1:59.20) with an NCAA 'B' cut time. Dawson Rice (Wilbraham, Mass.), competing in his second championship final of the weekend, took seventh in the 200 back (1:49.97), and Mattison-Gulotta finished eighth in the 200 fly (1:51.21).

Both Ryan Karaca (Schenectady, N.Y.) and Alex Pesek (Cleveland, Ohio) competed in the consolation final of the 200 back, with the former finishing 10th (1:50.70) and the latter 13th (1:52.18). Aiden Miller (Westfield, N.J.) won the pre-consolation final in the 100 free (45.69) and finished 17th overall, while Stepan Ignatiev (Swampscott, Mass.) rounded out the day with a 20th-place showing in the 200 fly (1:52.85).

Due to an expected winter storm hitting the New England region, all of Sunday's action was moved up to an earlier start. The final point standings were announced following the meet, but the rest of the annual awards will be announced later this week on NESCAC.com.
