ORLANDO, Fla. — The Connecticut College men's tennis team wrapped up its spring trip with a 6-1 setback to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Sunday at Sanlando Park.
The Camels grabbed an early highlight with a win at No. 1 doubles as the duo of Wolf Sohlberg (Espoo, Finland) and Noa Hoshino (Tokyo, Japan) delivered a 6-3 victory over UMHB's Davi Savi and Arturo Langle. However, the Crusaders claimed the doubles point with wins on courts two and three.
Five out of the six singles matches came down to a tiebreak, but UMHB claimed victory in all but one. Conn's point came from Sigmund Winiecki (Jaffrey, N.H.) at No. 5, who bounced back from a loss in the opening set to win in a tiebreak.
Conn (2-8 overall) was originally scheduled for a match against Franklin and Marshall College on Sunday, but rain forced a cancellation. The Camels return to action at Wesleyan University on March 28.
