MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — The Connecticut College men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to nationally ranked No. 26 Wesleyan University on Saturday afternoon at Bacon Field House.
Wesleyan secured the doubles point with wins on all three courts. The Camels' top pair of
Wolf Sohlberg (Espoo, Finland) and
Noa Hoshino (Tokyo, Japan) battled at No. 1 before falling 3-6 to Harry Collomb and Chase Burke. The Cardinals also claimed victory at No. 2 (6-2) and No. 3 (6-1) to take a 1-0 lead into singles.
Conn's point came at No. 1 singles, where
Arjun Premkumar (Bangalore, India) won his opening set by a 7-5 final before his opponent retired. Wesleyan collected straight-set wins on the remaining five courts to secure the victory.
Conn (2-9 overall, 0-3 NESCAC) returns to action on Sunday, March 29 at home against Nichols College. The match, which will be played on the indoor courts in Luce Field House, begins at noon.
