INDIANAPOLIS – All five Camels were in action on Friday at the 2026 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships at the IU Natatorium.

The Camels picked points in two events, with Carrick Shea (Grafton, Mass.) figuring prominently in both. He finished third in the 100 breaststroke in his first-ever championship final, and earlier in the day he helped power the 800 freestyle relay team to a 15th-place showing. Conn ended the day in 24th place in the team standings with 29 points.

After posting the third-fastest qualifying time in the 100 breast in the morning session, Shea secured a prime lane for a stacked final that included NESCAC champion Marrich Somridhivej and defending national champion Henri Bonnault. However, despite touching the wall in 53.29 and shaving .26 seconds off his prelim time, Shea couldn't make up any ground on either competitor. The order of the top-3 finishers mirrored the morning session with Somridhivej in first, Bonnault in second and Shea in third.

By virtue of the third-place finish, Shea earned All-America First Team honors for the first time ever in an individual event. Earlier this week he nabbed All-America Second Team status by winning the consolation final of the 200 IM, and on Saturday he will compete in the 200 breast to wrap up his championship weekend.

Earlier in the day, the Camels took part in a timed final of the 800 freestyle relay. The team of Aiden Miller (Westfield, N.J.), Shea, Campbell Noel (Austin, Texas) and Evan Lyons (Longmeadow, Mass.) finished sixth in their heat with a time of 6:39.59. That time was good enough for 15th place overall and All-America Second Team status, marking just the second time in program history that the Camels garnered All-America honors in the 800 free relay.

Julian Carlson (Brookline, Mass.) also saw action on Friday morning in the prelims of the 100 breast. He took third in his heat and posted a time of 55.45 to finish 26th overall.

The Camels will have three swimmers in action on Saturday, the final day of the championships. Shea and Carlson will take part in the morning prelims of the 200 breast, and Lyons will swim in the night heat of the 1,650 free.
