INDIANAPOLIS – All five Camels were in action on Friday morning at the 2026 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships at the IU Natatorium.
Carrick Shea (Grafton, Mass.) and
Julian Carlson (Brookline, Mass.) got things started for the Camels in the prelims of the 100 breaststroke. Shea finished second in his heat with a time of 53.55—the third-fastest of the event—and earned a spot in tonight's championship final. Carlson, who took third in his heat, posted a time of 55.45 to finish 26th overall.
Shea will swim alongside Bates' Marrich Somridhivej in tonight's final. The two also faced off in the finals of the 100 breast at the NESCAC Championships, where Somridhivej broke the NESCAC record en route to victory and Shea finished runner-up.
The Camels also took part in a timed final of the 800 freestyle relay, with two heats taking place in the morning and the final one later tonight. The team of
Aiden Miller (Westfield, N.J.), Shea,
Campbell Noel (Austin, Texas) and
Evan Lyons (Longmeadow, Mass.) finished sixth in their heat with a time of 6:39.59. That time was the seventh-fastest of the morning, which guarantees a top-16 finish regardless of tonight's results.
