NEW LONDON, Conn. — The Connecticut College men's tennis team fought hard in a 7-0 setback to No. 18 Williams College on Sunday morning inside Luce Field House.

Williams secured the doubles point with wins at all three flights, though the Camels pushed at No. 2 where Wolf Sohlberg (Espoo, Finland) and Edward Petersen (Cape Town, South Africa) were edged 7-5. At No. 1, Noa Hoshino (Tokyo, Japan) and Sigmund Winiecki (Jaffrey, N.H.) fell 6-2, and the Ephs clinched the point with a 6-0 decision at No. 3 over the Camels' duo of Nikolai Kahrs (Oslo, Norway) and Nikhil Agarwal (San Mateo, Calif.).

In singles, several Camels challenged deep into sets. At the top spot, Agarwal took Williams' Simon Volkema to a first-set tiebreak before falling 7-6, 6-2. Tucker Catalano (Duxbury, Mass.) battled in both sets at No. 6, dropping a narrow 7-5 opener and a 6-4 second to Matthew Yang. Sohlberg came up short against Nicholas Chen, 6-4, 6-2, while Arjun Premkumar (Bangalore, India) put together a strong second set in a 6-2, 6-4 decision to Williams' William Luke at No. 3.

Rounding out the lineup, Hoshino fell 6-1, 7-5 at No. 4 to Robert Cooper Jr., and at No. 5, Kahrs was topped by Diego Marin, 6-1, 6-1.
