3/8/2026 7:11:00 PM

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Connecticut College sailing team returned to action for the first time in the spring campaign, competing at the John Jackson Memorial Team Race, hosted by Georgetown.

Conn finished eighth, winning three of ten races. The skippers for the Camels were Skylor Sweet (Bear, Del.), Henry Scholz (Lake Forest, Ill.), and William Hurd (West Dennis, Mass.), while the Madeline Synnestvedt (Cohasset, Mass.), Vivian Smith (Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y.), and Sophia Rey (Newport, R.I.) made up the crews.

In the opening round, containing seven races, Conn won only once, defeating Old Dominion. However, in the bottom four races, the Camels picked up two more wins, defeating Old Dominion for a second team and Fordham in the final race.

Conn returns to action next weekend, as both the coed and women's teams host the Southern New England Team Race at Kohn Waterfront.
