DUDLEY, Mass. — The Connecticut College women's tennis team pulled out a 4-3 win over Nichols College on Saturday morning at the Robinson Tennis Courts.
After falling behind 1-0 following doubles play, the Camels rallied back to claim the first four points of singles play to secure the team victory. Conn earned the clinching point when
Asahi Goods (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) topped Pamela Gonzalez Vallardi by a 6-3, 6-4 final at No. 3.
The Camels also got strong efforts on courts 4-6.
Nicolette Baksay (Colonia, N.J.) got the ball rolling with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 6 to even the match at 1-1.
Lily Kerachsky (East Greenwich, R.I.) put Conn on top 2-1 with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 4, and
Sydney Concepcion (Long Beach, Calif.) made it 3-1 with a 6-1, 6-4 victory at No. 5.
Baksay and Concepcion also teamed up for a 6-4 win at No. 3 doubles. The former improved to 2-0 in doubles action this season while the latter moved to 1-0.
Conn (6-9 overall) will next host Bates College on Sunday, April 19 at 2:00 p.m.
