NEW LONDON, Conn. — The Connecticut College men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Bates College on Sunday morning at Luce Field House.
Bates won two of the three doubles matches to earn the early 1-0 advantage. The Bobcats then added straight-set wins on four of the six singles courts to improve to 5-10 overall (3-7 NESCAC) on the year.
Conn's singles wins came at the No. 1 and 3 spots courtesy of
Nikhil Agarwal (San Mateo, Calif.) and
Wolf Sohlberg (Espoo, Finland). Agarwal posted a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Phillippe Kosyagin at the top sot while Sohlberg took down Theo Sardain by a 7-6, 6-4 final. The two also teamed for a 7-6 win at No. 2 doubles, besting the duo of Eric Diop and Josh Maller.
Conn (3-14 overall, 0-8 NESCAC) will next play at Hamilton College on Saturday, April 25 at 2:00 p.m.
