NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Connecticut College men's tennis team opened the 2026-27 season with a 5-2 victory over Coast Guard Academy on Tuesday evening at the Conn College Tennis Courts.
The Camels kicked off the match with wins at No. 2 and 3 doubles to take a 1-0 advantage. The duo of
Nikhil Agarwal (San Mateo, Calif.) and
Wolf Sohlberg (Espoo, Finland) won by a 6-2 final at No. 2, and teammates
Kristian Brondmo (Haslum, Norway) and
Edward Petersen (Cape Town, South Africa) won by the same tally at No. 3. The top doubles squad of
Arjun Premkumar (Bangalore, India) and
Noa Hoshino (Tokyo, Japan) dropped a closely-contested matchup in a tiebreaker, falling by a 7-6 (7-5) final.
Conn sewed up the victory with straight-set wins at the bottom four singles spots. Hoshino and Petersen dropped only three combined games apiece at No. 4 and 6, respectively, while Sohlberg won by 6-2, 6-2 finals at No. 3. Brondmo rounded out the day with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 5.
Conn will next send three players to compete at the 2026 ITA New England Regional Championships on September 25 -27 in Middlebury, VT.
