HADLEY, Mass. – Connecticut College first-year Morgan Lovell (Franklin, Mass.) was named New England Small College Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the sport of women's soccer, as announced by the league on Monday afternoon.

In her collegiate debut, Lovell led Conn to a 4-3 comeback win at No. 22 Amherst. The newcomer led the way with five points on two goals and one assist. Lovell opened the scoring midway through the first half, finishing off a cross from fellow rookie Danica Zicha (Belmont, Mass.). With the Camels trailing 3-1 in the second half, Lovell sparked the comeback. Lovell returned the favor to Zicha, assisting on Zicha's first career goal to make it 3-2. Just 25 seconds later, Lovell evened the score at 3-3. The Camels added the game-winner in the 74th minute. The victory was Conn's first over Amherst since 2019.

Lovell becomes the first Camel to earn women's soccer Player of the Week honors since Mya Johnson in 2021.

Conn (1-0, 1-0 NESCAC) returns to action tonight as the Camels host Salve Regina at 7:00 p.m. on Silfen Field.
