PROVIDENCE, R.I.--California Lutheran University improved its record to 1-4 with a 17-8 triumph over Connecticut College (1-3) in a non-conference match played at Brown University Friday.
Sophomore Daniel Albers (Aloha, Ore.) kept this match close in the early going. The Camels and Kingsmen were knotted up in a 1-1 tie after one. But in the second quarter, Cal Lutheran erupted with seven goals to take an 8-2 advantage into the half and the Kingsmen never looked back.
Goaltending has been a hallmark of Connecticut College JJ Addison's program and Albers is continuing that tradition of success between the pipes. Albers finished with 17 blocks and three steals Friday. He is averaging 11.5 saves per start in the early season.
Sophomore Carlos Heros (Key Biscayne, Fla.) netted five goals to go with four steals and six earned ejections. Henry McMillan (New York, N.Y.) chipped in with two scores, one steal and an earned ejection for the Camels. Junior Robert Spencer (Chevy Chase, Md.) added one goal and one theft for Connecticut College.
