Connecticut College 3, JWU 0 Kellogg, Johnson Lead Camels Past Wildcats

NEW LONDON, Conn.--Jenny Kellogg (Los Altos, Calif.) buried 11 kills while adding five digs and three aces to lead the Connecticut College volleyball team to a 3-0 victory at Luce Field House Saturday.

The set scores were 25-15, 25-18 and 25-15 in favor of the hosts.

The Camels, ranked #7 in New England, improved their record to 15-6.  The Wildcats fell to 17-7 with the setback.

Junior Ella Johnson (Seal Beach, Calif.) registered eight kills for the winning side. Caroline Martin (Palo Alto, Calif.) had nine kills and five digs for the Camels.

Sophomore setter Katia Elisman (Lake Forest, Ill.) dished out 34 assists to go with her three kills and two digs.

Senior libero Cailyn Straubel (pictured, Dallas, Texas) paced the Camels on defense with a match-best 12 digs.

Johnson and Wales University rookie outside hitter Nastasia Kapustin (West Nyack, N.Y.) finished with four kills and five digs in the match. Senior setter Kellen Tensen (New Canaan, Conn.) dished out 13 assists in the contest. Monica Cordova (Jersey City, N.J.) finished with five digs in the loss.
