NEW LONDON, Conn.--The Wesleyan University women's tennis team posted a 9-0 victory against Connecticut College in a NESCAC match up of intrastate rivals played on the South Tennis Courts Wednesday.
The Cardinals improved their record to 5-7 with a 3-4 mark in conference play, while the Camels fell to 3-9 with a 0-3 record in the NESCAC.
Junior Clare Dubrin (Rochester, N.Y.) earned a 6-2, 6-0 victory at number one singles to lead the Cardinals to the win. Grace Smith (Chicago, Ill.) posted a 6-1, 6-3 win at second singles for the visitors.
Smith and Olivia Koh (Singapore) joined forces in an 8-1 win at number one doubles.
Connecticut College freshman Jillian Brigandi (Harrington Park, N.J.) dropped a closely contested 7-5, 6-3 decision at number six singles for the College.
