NORTHAMPTON, Mass.--The Connecticut College women's tennis team earned a split in two matches played in Western Massachusetts Saturday.
In the early match, the Camels dropped a 6-3 decision to the Mount Holyoke College Lyons. In the second match, Connecticut College evened its record at 6-6 with a 7-2 triumph over Smith College.
Aleksandra Drljaca (East Greenwich, R.I.) and Adrienne Sieverding (Red Hook, N.Y.) won both of their singles match ups Saturday. Drljaca cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 victory at number one singles in the loss to MHC and was impressive in a 6-1, 6-1 straight set win against the Pioneers from Smith.
In the Mount Holyoke win, Sieverding posted a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at third singles. Later on in the day, Sieverding climbed the ladder to take a 6-2, 6-1 win against Smith.
The Camels won all three of their doubles match ups in the Smith win. Junior Charlotte Marcoux (Sudbury, Mass.) and Angelica Warren (McLeansville, S.C.) posted an 8-1 win at number one doubles. In the second slot, Ellie Rudd (Minneapolis, Minn.) and Emily White (Buxton, Maine) gutted out a 9-7 win. Jillian Brigandi (Harrington Park, N.J.) and Aneeka Kalia (Southborough, Mass.) secured a 9-7 victory at third doubles for Connecticut College.
