Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn.--Junior Martha Griffin (Exeter, N.H.) scored three goals and assisted on two others to lead the top ranked Trinity College women's lacrosse team to a 15-4 victory at Connecticut College Wednesday night.
After dropping their season opener to Colby, the Bantams have won nine games in a row to improve their mark to 9-1 with a 5-1 record in conference play. The Camels are 2-7 overall with a 0-5 mark in league action.
Sophomore Clare Lyne (Concord, Mass.) and Allie Barrett (Concord, Mass.) scored three goals each for the visitors. Meghan Collins (Marblehead, Mass.) won six draws and Zoe Ferguson (Ridgewood, N.J.) had five saves in the cage.
Connecticut College sophomore Tina Balzotti (Duxbury, Mass.) scored twice to lead the Camels in the setback. Madison Barker (Boston, Mass.) had one goal, one ground ball and a pair of draw controls. Senior Taylor Thomas (Needham, Mass.) notched the 80th point of her career with a second half marker.
Meg Raskin (Westwood, Mass.) made four saves in 35 minutes of action. Megan Mullin (Sudbury, Mass.) made one save in relief duty.
Trinity held a 23-to-14 advantage in shots and enjoyed a 17-4 edge in draws but the Camels won the ground ball battle by a slim 9-to-8 margin.
