Colby College 5, Connecticut College 4 Drljaca, Marcoux Post Wins for Camels

WATERVILLE, Maine --Katie Ryan pulled out the fifth point of the day for the Colby College women's tennis team in a 5-4 victory against Connecticut College in NESCAC play Saturday.

The Mules are ranked 16th in the ITA Northeast Region and improved to 12-3 overall and 4-2 in the league. The Camels, ranked 19th, dropped to 9-5 and 1-2 in the NESCAC.

The match was tied at 4-4 going into the start of Ryan's third set. She had fallen 6-4 in the first set, but fought back for a 7-6 (2) win in the second set. Ryan pulled out a 6-2 victory in the final set.

Gabriela Venditti won 6-4, 6-4 at the second singles position and Jamie Pine won a tight 7-5, 6-4 match at the fifth singles spot for Colby.

The Mules took a 2-1 lead after doubles play. Maddie Lupone and Aleks Piibe won at the second spot, while Holly Bogo and Pine took the third doubles match.

Aleksandra Drljaca won in three sets at first singles and teamed with Charlotte Marcoux for a first doubles win for Connecticut College. Marcoux won at third singles and Angelica Warren was a winner at the fourth spot.
