Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn.--Senior Moriah Greenstein (Glenmont, N.Y.) scored four of her six goals in the opening half to lead the ninth ranked Bates College women's lacrosse team to a 19-7 victory at Connecticut College Saturday.
Greeenstein has accounted for a team-best 68 points with 44 goals and 24 assists this spring.
The Bobcats improved their record to 11-3 with the victory and are 6-3 in the NESCAC. The Camels fell to 5-9 with a 1-8 mark in conference action.
Junior midfielder Drew Barry (Portland, Maine) chipped in with three goals and an assist for the winning side. Camille Belletete (Jaffrey, N.H.) contributed with two goals and an assist for the Bobcats.
Senior net-minder Hannah Jeffrey (Greenwich, Conn.) made six saves in the cage.
Connecticut College senior Erin Moran (Lincoln, N.H.) scored four goals to lead the Camels in her final home weekend contest. Junior Hannah Donegan (Great Falls, Va.) scored twice. Senior Cassidy Lynch (Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y.) chipped in with a single tally for the Camels.
Maggie Hogan (Arnold, Md.) registered two ground balls while adding one draw control and one caused turnover. Lauren Munhall (Ridgewood, N.J.) contributed with a pair of ground balls and a caused turnover for Connecticut College.
Sophomore Meg Raskin (Westwood, Mass.) made four saves in the opening half of action. Classmate Megan Mullin (Sudbury, Mass.) contributed with five stops in the second stanza.
Bates opened the game with an 8-1 run. Greenstein netted an unassisted marker with 18:09 remaining to put the Bobcats on top 5-1. Then Emma Noto (Portland, Ore.) made it a 6-1 game with 12:47 remaining. Raskin made a terrific stop on Barry with 12:20 to go. But Bates was able to break the clear.
Junior Sydney Cowles (Wayne, Pa.) intercepted the outlet pass and dished it off to Greenstein, who flicked one in to make it a 7-1 game. Dewey capped the rally for the Bobcats, scoring with 10 minutes to go. Bates continued to pull away, taking an 11-2 lead into the break. Moran pulled the Camels to within 13-6 when she scored with 18:17 remaining but the Camels could not get any closer and Bates was able to pull away for the 19-7 win.
Senior Notes: Hogan has corralled 106 ground balls, to go with 27 draws and 27 caused turnovers for the Camels. Lynch netted the 14th goal of her career in the first half today. Moran has scored 30 goals to lead the Camels this season. She has accounted for 38 goals, four assists, 42 points, 42 ground balls, 77 draws and 22 caused turnovers. Munhall has contributed with 14 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers for the Camels.
