NEW LONDON, Conn.--The eighth ranked Wesleyan University women's tennis team secured an 8-1 victory against Connecticut College in a match between intra-state rivals played on the South Tennis Courts today.
Wesleyan improved its record to 9-4 with a 6-4 mark in conference play. The Camels fell to 10-9 with a 1-6 record in the NESCAC.
Sophomore Eudice Chong (Sai Kung, Hong Kong) posted a 6-2, 6-0 victory to lead the Cardinals at number one singles. Freshman Victoria Yu (New Braunfels, Texas) chipped in with a 6-2, 6-1 triumph at two.
Chong and Aashli Budhiraja (Palo Alto, Calif.) registered an 8-2 victory at number one doubles for the Cardinals.
Connecticut College freshman MariahWarren (McLeansville, N.C.) salvaged a point for the Camels at number six singles, pulling out a 10-6 decision against Maddie James (Marblehead, Mass.) in the super tie-breaker.
