NEW LONDON, Conn.--The Babson College women's tennis team won two of three doubles matches to pull out a 5-4 victory against Connecticut College Friday.
The 28th ranked Beavers improved their record to 13-6 with the win, while the Camels fell to 9-3 with the setback.
Eleni Gianelos (West Chester, Pa.) and Jenny Quenard (St.-Legier, Switzerland) joined forces to take an 8-4 victory at number one doubles. Senior Tori Paolino (East Orleans, Mass.) and Chloe Brandt (Denver, Colo.) chipped in with an 8-0 shutout victory at second doubles.
Quenard secured a 6-4, 6-4 victory at number one singles for Babson.
Connecticut College freshman Emily Migliorini (North Haven, Conn.) cruised to a 7-6, 6-1 victory at number two singles for the Camels. Junior Susanna Studwell (Tucson, Ariz.) checked in with a 6-3, 6-1 triumph at number five singles. Mariah Warren (McLeansville, N.C.) won her match by default at six.
Mariah Warren and Brinley Bartlett (Malvern, Pa.) contributed with an 8-2 victory at number three doubles for Connecticut College.
Babson will host Brandeis University Tuesday afternoon for a 3:00 p.m. match in Babson Park, Mass.
The Camels will visit Williams College Sunday for a 4:30 p.m. NESCAC match up in Williamstown, Mass.
