NEW LONDON, Conn.--Colby College took points in the top three spots in its singles line up today to hold off an improving Connecticut College team in a 5-4 victory here in the Whaling City.

Lydia Venditti (Mercer Island, Wash.) posted a 6-3, 0-6, 6-3 victory at number one singles for thee visitors while sister Gabriela Venditi chipped in with a 6-4, 6-3 straight set win at number two for the winning side. Junior Maddie Lupone (New Canaan, Conn.) contributed with a 6-2, 6-0 triumph at third singles for the visitors. 

Connecticut College junior Angelica Warren (McLeansville, N.C.) battled back to win a 10-8 decision in the super tie-breaker at fourth singles for Connecticut College. Senior Adrienne Sieverding (Red Hook, N.Y.) dominated in a 6-1, 6-0 triumph at fifth singles for the hosts. At sixth singles, senior Susanna Studwell (Tucson, Ariz.) took care of business by taking a 7-6, 6-1 decision for the Camels.

Lydia and Gabriela Venditti joined forces in coming away with an 8-3 victory at number one doubles for Colby. The Mule duo of Lupone and Pine notched a 9-7 win at second doubles. Connecticut College sophomore Brinley Bartlett (Malvern, Pa.) and Angelica Warren posted an 8-4 win at third doubles for the hosts.
