Men's Squash Edges Hamilton, 5-4, on Andrew's Five-Set Win

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Connecticut College men's squash team defeated Hamilton by a 5-4 decision to earn its second straight win over a NESCAC opponent on Saturday afternoon.

Junior Scott Brown (Old Greenwich, Conn.) picked up a key point for the Camels by earning a five-set victory over Tristan Chaix in the number five position. Despite trailing by a 10-5 score in the fifth and final set with his back against the wall, a relentless Brown scored seven straight points to take the set by a 12-10 decision.

With the teams tied at 4-4, freshman James Andrew (Dover, Mass.) picked up the deciding point from the number seven position in the third five-set thriller of the day. He won by scores of 7-11, 11-6, 11-3, 9-11 and 13-11 to seal the win for the Camels.

The hosts also got victories from senior John Dunham (New Haven, Conn.), sophomore Samuel Piller (Charlottesville, Va.) and classmate Winston Simone (New York, N.Y.).

Connecticut College (3-4) will next travel to Haverford to face Tufts and the host Fords on Tuesday, Jan. 16. The Camels will match up against the Jumbos at 2:00 p.m. and Haverford at 4:30 p.m.
