CLINTON, N.Y. – Senior Angelica Warren (McLeansville, N.C.) was victorious in both her singles and doubles matches to help lead the Connecticut College women's tennis team to a 7-2 triumph over Hamilton on Saturday morning.
Connecticut College swept the three doubles matches to begin the morning on a high note. Freshman Meredith Kenny (Phoenix, Ariz.) and junior Britney Bartlett (Malvern, Pa.) blanked Katherine McMally and Margaret O'Brien at No. 3 doubles, while senior Aleksandra Drljaca (East Greenwich, R.I.) and sophomore Stephanie Simon (Wellesley, Mass.) also earned a dominant win at the No. 2 position by an 8-1 score.
Angelica Warren, who teamed up with sister Mariah Warren (McLeansville, N.C.) to capture No. 1 doubles by an 8-6 score, also outlasted Mdano Murisya at No. 4 singles by set scores of 6-0, 4-6 and 10-7 to end the day as a two-time winner. Sophomores Rachel Weiss (Great Neck, N.Y.) and Hayley Zukerberg (Newton, Mass.) cruised to win their singles matches without yielding a point, and junior Emily Migliorini (North Haven, Conn.) took No. 2 singles by set scores of 6-3 and 6-2.
Connecticut College (4-8, NESCAC 2-5) will conclude its 2018 campaign when it visits Ithaca for a non-conference match tomorrow morning at 10 a.m.
