BRONX, N.Y. – The Connecticut College men's squash team defeated Fordham in dominating fashion, 9-0, on Tuesday evening.
Seven of the eight matches played were decided in the minimum three sets needed to win, while sophomore newcomer Kunal Sheth (New London, Conn.) helped clinch the team's shutout of the Rams by taking the No. 8 spot in five frames. He defeated Caleb Schumacher by scores of 11-9, 7-11, 7-11, 11-4, and 11-0. Senior Chris Mach (Concord, Mass.), meanwhile, overwhelmed his opponent at No. 7 by marks of 11-1, 11-2, and 11-5 to help the Camels end a five-game skid.
Connecticut College (4-6) next hosts Hamilton on Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. Seniors Samuel Piller (Charlottesville, Va.), Mikey Rodriguez (New Haven, Conn.) and Winston Simone (New York, N.Y.) will also be recognized for their contributions to the program prior to the start of the NESCAC matchup.
