BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Connecticut College men's squash team dropped its opening match at the NESCAC Championships to Tufts by a 9-0 decision on Friday evening.
Freshman Tyler Maguire (Middletown, R.I.) played in the most competitive match of the day. He fell to Raghav Kumar in four sets from the No. 2 position by scores of 11-8, 11-6, 8-11, and 11-8. Senior Mikey Rodriguez (New Haven, Conn.) also captured a set against his opponent at the No. 5 spot before having to settle for a loss due to retirement.
Connecticut College (8-9) will next face an opponent to be determined in the consolation round on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m.
