MEDFORD, Mass. – The Connecticut College men's squash team ended its 2019-20 season with a 5-4 victory over Chatham on the final day of CSA Nationals at Tufts University. The Camels utilized their senior leadership as well as their depth by capturing wins from the bottom five positions to end the winter on a positive note.
Senior Mikey Rodriguez (New Haven, Conn.) clinched the overall win for the Camels in the Conroy Cup bracket by taking down Christopher Tejada from the No. 6 spot by scores of 11-8, 10-12, 11-5, and 11-6. Classmates Samuel Piller (Charlottesville, Va.) and Winston Simone (New York, N.Y.) also won their final matches as collegians by triumphing from the No. 5 and No. 7 positions, respectively in three sets. Sophomore Christopher Mach (Concord, Mass.) took down his opponent at No. 8 in three sets, while classmate Tommy Whittemore (West Hartford, Conn.) captured the No. 9 match by lopsided totals of 11-2, 11-4, and 11-1.
Connecticut College (10-11), which closed out the winter ranked 27th nationally, graduates three seniors and is slated to return more than 10 letterwinners next season.
