Jeffrey Love Earns USTFCCCA Indoor All-America Accolades

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Connecticut College men's track & field freshman Jeffrey Love (Union, N.J.) has been named an All-American by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), as announced by the national organization earlier today.

Love qualified for the 2020 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships for the first time of his collegiate career in the 3,000-meter run. After entering the last weekend of competition ranked 101st on the national list in the event, he dropped more than 10 seconds off his best time by placing fourth with a big personal-best mark of 8:30.69 at a final qualifying meet held at Tufts University on March 7. Love was seeded 19th overall for the national event which was abruptly canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Division III Track & Field Executive Committee, with support of the USTFCCCA Board of Directors, directed the national office to reconfigure the USTFCCCA All-America program for the 2020 indoor track & field season in light of the current circumstances. As a result, a decision was made to recognize (1) all student-athletes declared and initially accepted into their event for the NCAA Championships and (2) members of all relays who produced the performance that was declared and initially accepted into their event to be recognized as indoor All-Americans.
