Box Score

NEW LONDON, Conn.--Connecticut College and Hamilton College skated to a 3-3 draw in NESCAC women's hockey action played at Dayton Arena Friday night.

The Camels move to 1-1-1 (1-1-1 NESCAC) with the tie while the Continentals improve to 0-2-1 (0-2-1 NESCAC.

Hamilton enjoyed a 3-1 advantage on the Camels after Hannah Bartlett (Marshfield, Mass.) scored with 14:10 remaining in the contest.

But sophomore Ashley Anctil (Manchester, N.H.) pulled the Camels to within 3-2 with 13:36 remaining in regulation.  Jane Pagano (Erie, Pa.) delivered a blast from the point and Anctil was able to redirect the shot from her backhand into the back of the net.

Amelia Dineen (Arlington, Mass.) supplied the equalizer for Connecticut College in an empty net situation with 1:44 to play in regulation.  Amanda Bogue (Glastonbury, Conn.) intercepted a clearing puck at the blue line and fed Kate Kohl (Chelmsford, Mass.) who cycled the puck to Dineen. The senior forward buried a low shot to the far post side of the goal to even things up.

Connecticut College out-shot the Continentals 7-to-1 in the extra session but the game ended in a tie.

In the middle period, the Continentals took their first lead 7:54 into the frame. Ianthe Lekometros (Teaneck, N.J.) delivered a pass through the slot to junior Casey Brown (Lafayette, Colo.) who went top shelf at the near post side of the goal for the visitors. Katie Parkman (Stratford, Prince Edward Island) assisted on the score.

The Camels opened the scoring just 56 seconds into regulation. Freshman Lily Connolly (Duxbury, Mass.) won a battle for a puck near the back-wall and fed Steph Izzi (West Cornwall, Conn.) in the slot for a one-timer to make it a 1-0 game.

But the Continentals responded with a score 3:42 into the contest. Brown fired a shot that was saved by Kelsie Fralick (West Chester, Pa.). However, Parkman pounced on the rebound out front and snuck a low shot into the corner of the cage to even the game at one.

Sam Walther (Gambrills, Md.) finished with 46 saves in a strong performance in goal for the Continentals.

Fralick recorded 22 saves in the contest for the Camels.

The two teams will meet again tomorrow afternoon for a 3:00 p.m. game in New London.
