NEW LONDON, Conn.--The Connecticut College women's squash teams cruised to a 6-3 triumph over visiting Mount Holyoke College in a match played at Luce Field House Wednesday night.
Senior Leah Puklin (Bala Cynwyd, Pa.), freshman Mawa Ballo (Harlem, N.Y.) and junior Adrienne Sieverding (Red Hook, N.Y.) posted victories in their respective slots at number two, three and four on the ladder to help lead the Camels past the Lyons in the home win.
Puklin secured a 3-1 victory in the second slot, prevailing in an 11-9, 11-7, 8-11, 11-9 decision for Head Coach Ted Child's squad. In the third slot, Ballo posted an 11-7, 9-11, 11-7, 11-3 win. Sieverding vanquished her opponent in five sets, pulling out an 11-4 win in the decisive fifth game at number four for Connecticut College.
Sophomore Anne Holly (York, Pa.) contributed with a 3-2 triumph in the seventh slot on the ladder. Senior Myra Jacobs (West Wardsboro, Vt.) erased a 2-1 deficit at number eight to pull out a 3-2 win. Junior Tori Allen (Jamestown, R.I.) posted a 3-1 win in the ninth slot for the winning side.
Freshman Elizabeth Varoli (Katonah, N.Y.) won her matchup in straight sets at number 10, 11-9, 12-10, 11-9 for the Camels.
