#4 Middlebury College 4, Connecticut College 1 Fralick Finishes with 33 Saves for Camels

Box Score

NEW LONDON, Conn.—Senior Emily Fluke (Sandwich, Mass.) had a goal and an assist to lead the fourth ranked Middlebury College women's hockey team to a 4-1 triumph at Connecticut College Friday night.

The surging Panthers improved their record to 15-2-3 with a 10-1-2 mark in NESCAC play. They extended their unbeaten streak to 15 games and have not lost since November.

The Camels fell to 11-7-3 and moved to 6-5-2 in conference action. The two teams will face off again tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 p.m.

First year forward Maddie Winslow (Manchester, Vt.) and junior Katie Mandigo (Cornwall, Vt.) potted power play goals for the Panthers.

Senior Annabelle Jones (Homer, N.Y.) turned aside 20 shots in goal for the winning side.

Connecticut College sophomore Steph Izzi (West Cornwall, Conn.) scored her 10th goal of the season in the third period. Meghan Lembo (Southington, Conn.) and Jane Pagano (Erie, Pa.) assisted on the score.

Senior Kelsie Fralick (West Chester, Pa.) finished with 33 saves in the contest, surrendering just two goals before the visitors closed out the game with their two empty-netters.

Neither side could get on the board in the opening period. With 3:16 remaining in the frame, sophomore Allie Aiello (Maplewood, N.J.) nearly put the visitors on the board but Fralick was able to make a nice kick save on her shot from the slot.

In the Middle period, Jones impressed with the crowd with a nice stop on Jill Dahrooge (Charlton, Mass.) with 14:40 to play.

Winslow was able to finally put the Panthers on the scoreboard with 42 seconds left.  Winslow took a cross crease pass from Jessica Young (Mission Hills, Kan.) to make it a 1-0 game.

With 11:47 remaining in regulation, Izzi buried a slap shot from the top of the circles to event things up at one.

But the visitors would answer 3:20 later. Katie Mandigo was able to pounce on a rebound in the slot area and lift one past Fralick to make it a 2-1 game.

Connecticut College emptied its net with 2:40 remaining.  But Fluke was able to corral a loose puck and find the back of the empty net with 2:17 remaining for her 15th goal of the season.

Young tacked on another empty netter with 45 seconds left to close out the 4-1 win.
