NEW LONDON, Conn.--The Babson College men's tennis team secured an 8-1 victory against Connecticut College in a non-conference match played in New London today.
The Beavers improved their record to 5-6 with the triumph while the Camels fell to 3-9 in the setback.
Babson senior Roberto Perez (Pozuelo de Alarcon, Spain) notched a 6-2, 6-1 straight set victory to lead the Beavers at number one singles. Senior Isaac Thylen (Surfside, Fla.) chipped in with a 6-1, 6-2 triumph at two. Perez and Brandon Rosenbluth (Pound Ridge, N.Y.) joined forces to take an 8-6 win at number one doubles.
Connecticut College freshman James Wright II (Solebury, Pa.) salvaged a point for the Camels at number six singles with a 7-5, 6-4 victory for the hosts.
Junior Daniel Maffa (Lexington, Mass.) and freshman Will Cannon (Fairfield, Conn.) kept it close for the Camels in a 9-7 loss to Thylen and Victor Vu (Los Angeles, Calif.) at second doubles.
