WATERVILLE, Maine -- The Colby College men's tennis team opened a big weekend of play with a 7-2 victory over Connecticut College in NESCAC action Saturday.
The Mules (4-10, 2-4 NESCAC) are not ranked in the Northeast Region. The Camels (3-10, 0-3) came into the match ranked 19th. Colby heads to 16th-ranked Babson on Sunday for a 1 p.m. match.
Carl Reid improved to 11-1 in singles dual match play with a straight sets win at the first position. Vlad Murad, Mark HoSang, Jeremy Mendoza, and Douglas Mo also won in straight sets.
Reid and Murad took an 8-3 win at the first doubles spot. Mendoza and Matt Martin combined for a 9-7 win at the third spot.
Daniel Maffa was a winner at the third singles spot and teamed with Charlie Williams (pictured) for a victory at second doubles.
