Ithaca College 5, Connecticut College 4 Kraiger Posts Victory at #1 Singles in Final Collegiate Match for Camels

ITHACA, N.Y.—The Ithaca College men's tennis team took two out of three points in doubles play to hold off Connecticut College in a 5-4 victory Sunday night.

The Bombers improved their record to 12-5 with their eighth consecutive win while the Camels wrap up the season with a record of 4-15.

Connecticut College senior Jonathan Kraiger (Springfield, Vt.) posted a victory at number one singles in his final collegiate match. Kraiger outlasted his opponent with an 8-6 victory in the super tie-breaker. Ben Sachs (Mount Kisco, N.Y.) chipped in with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at number five singles. Sophomore Ethan Hecker (Wayland, Mass.) coasted to a 6-3, 6-1 straight set win at sixth singles for Connecticut College.

At second doubles, junior Daniel Maffa (Lexington, Mass.) and freshman Charlie Williams (Mercer Island, Wash.) secured an 8-4 victory for the Camels today.
